Vision

Over the years, the role of industrial designers has been changed. The competency of design has grown in a wider spectrum of the industry towards creating systemic change. I see design as an innovative method for building strategies, in which innovation is seen as a process rather than an outcome. Once, design was a user-centered approach. In today’s economy, design fulfills a multiple stakeholder approach, in order to align perspectives from multiple stakeholders within one or more ecosystems. To come to valuable insights and create propositions and strategies, these stakeholders need to work together to increase understanding of each other’s perspective. A designer is able to bring those perspective together and bridge the gap between different stakeholders. By bringing multiple stakeholders together, I am convinced that we can create more impact. My goal is to use both design and design thinking to enhance strategic thinking in order to build and maintain meaningful consumer products and services.

Profile

During my masters, I have been specialising myself in the area of Strategic and Business design. With my back ground as Product Designer I still have a passion for consumer products and services. However, I dived deeper in the strategically positioning of brands and products as well as designing coherent business ecosystems for companies. Due to my experience at Philips, Van Berlo and Design2Gather in the past 3 years I have experienced in practice, how the competency of design can enhance strategic thinking.

I am often described as social, passionate and structured, continuously challenging myself and others on how to solve challenges. I am a good reasoner who is able to see how stakeholders, products and industries relate to each other. As a person with a great feeling of empathy, I like to bring people together, work together and create together. I can easily adapt myself to new environments and fit in any team. I am at my best in a very energetic and pro-active environment, I am able to shift gears and speed up my work to share and spread the energy of the team.
